The Inn at Corbies' Caww

Ignorant of who they really are and why they are there, four strangers, two women and two men, meet apparently by accident at the deserted Inn of Corbies' Caww. During the weeks that follow, an uneasy friendship develops among the four as cross-currents of desire and fear and memory entangle them in a web of emotions, forcing them to act out the pattern they have forgotten they are in.

"In sentences that ring like hammered steel, she evokes a world of forgetting and remembering, where the crows are everywhere, and a strange pattern inexorably runs its course."
---Michael Dirda, Pulitzer Prize-winning critic and author of Classics for Pleasure

"Readers may be reminded of Robert Holdstock's Mythago Wood series, as both authors share a sense of time that is not linear but recurrent, concurrent, magical. But the shimmering, beautifully textured prose, and the focus on female experience in its joyful and shattering extremes, is all Flieger."
---Rose Solari, author of Orpheus in the Park (poems) and A Secret Woman (fiction)
